LASER SKIN REJUVENATION
Refresh Your Skin in as Little as One Appointment!
If you are struggling with facial lines and wrinkles, scarring, large pores, or uneven skin tone and texture, the sublative rejuvenation treatment by the elōs Plus laser is the treatment for you. This unique treatment delivers controlled bi-polar RF energy deep into the underlying layers of the skin to produce a significant increase in collagen and elastin with minimal damage or disruption to the skin’s surface. By creating a wound-healing response deep within the skin, increased collagen and elastin production strengthens the treated areas, smoothing your skin and eliminating blemishes over time for a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
Due to the deep tissue penetration of the sublative rejuvenation treatment, a topical numbing anesthetic will be used on your skin prior to your treatment to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The sublative rejuvenation treatment will typically last between 15 and 20 minutes and will require about one to two days of downtime depending on the extent of your treatment. Patients can expect mild swelling and redness post-treatment, but these symptoms should subside entirely within five to seven days of your appointment.
The elōs Plus laser treatments we offer at 901 Aesthetics can help our patients to reduce or eliminate the following cosmetic concerns:
Sublative Rejuvenation by Syneron Candela
Sublative Rejuvenation by Syneron Candela uses bipolar radiofrequency (RF) technology to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scars, large, pores, skin laxity, and overall better texture and luminosity of the skin. This innovative laser treatment is capable of restoring your skin’s natural beauty and glow in less than four to six weeks. Sublative rejuvenation minimally affects the skin’s surface layer making it safe and effective for all skin types and colors.
In 3-5 customized treatments, sublative rejuvenation can provide effective anti-wrinkle treatment, acne scar treatment, and overall rejuvenation and toning of the skin requiring only once-a-year “maintenance” following the initial procedure.
What is Sublative Radiofrequency?
Using an ergonomic applicator, each pulse of the treatment delivers radiofrequency energy via a grid of matrix spots, inducing a skin injury maximized in these tiny, targeted areas. This radiofrequency energy heats the skin layers enough to induce a healing response from the skin. The tissue surrounding the treated areas that are not affected by the RF energy accelerates the wound-healing response by increasing the production of collagen and elastin. Mild to moderate wrinkles, superficial skin discolorations, and skin lesions are reduced and skin texture becomes more smooth and elastic.
What can I expect during the treatment?
During your visit, your skin is cleansed first and a topical numbing is applied to minimize any discomfort. The laser handpiece is applied directly to the skin and you might feel a warm prickly sensation. After treatment, cold ice packs will be applied to your skin. Treatments can typically be performed in less than one hour. Treatments can also be combined the same day with IPL photofacial for added benefit.
What to expect after treatment?
Sublative rejuvenation offers significant results with little to no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, a pink or red “sunburn” appearing and feeling is common. In the first two days post-treatment, most patients report mild redness. During the first two to five days post-treatment, many patients also report mild dryness and flaking as the older layers of skin exfoliate. We recommend using a gentle facial cleanser and moisturizer with SPF 45 or greater at all times throughout the treatment course.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on the treatment indication and severity. We recommend a minimum of 3 treatments, although more treatments might be required. Treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Patients will begin to see results after the first treatment and will continue to see improvement up to one-year post-treatment.
About the The elōs Plus Laser:
The elōs Plus laser is a revolutionary new aesthetic system that combines optical energy, such as laser or pulsed light with bi-polar radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver safe, comfortable, and transformative treatments. These proprietary dual thermal energies allow for this laser to raise the temperature of the underlying layers of your skin without harming the skin’s surface. In combining these energies, the elōs Plus laser uses less optical power to improve the safety for all skin types undergoing treatment.
The addition of RF energy allows your elōs Plus treatment to penetrate deeper into your skin while reducing the optical energy typically needed with traditional lasers to achieve lasting results. Unlike many lasers today, RF energy is safe to use on all skin types and tones, even for hair removal treatments. An integrated sapphire contact cooling system also ensures that the surface of your skin is kept cool and comfortable throughout your treatment.

FAQs:
The treatment creates heated columns in the skin that stimulate the body’s healing processes, part of which involves collagen production around the treated areas. This collagen stimulation strengthens the dermis and softens the highs & lows of the skin, i.e. wrinkles or acne scars.
Laser skin resurfacing can be combined with other cosmetic procedures to help reach your skin rejuvenation goals. Treatment with topical retinoids is recommended to maintain the results from your laser skin resurfacing treatment. Also, Botox and dermal filler treatments can be incorporated to address wrinkles and volume loss to the face. Depending on your individual goals, our providers can design a treatment plan to best address your needs.
Patients should expect to be in the office for about 1 hour for the treatment. While the actual treatment itself only lasts for about 20 minutes, between checking in, going over treatment consents, and icing your skin post-treatment, patients will be in the office for about 1 hour.
Immediately post-treatment, your skin will appear swollen and red, and you will feel tightness of the skin. It is recommended that you ice the treated area for 30 minutes following the treatment. Glycolic, salicylic acid, and topical vitamin A derivative creams will need to be avoided for 2-3 days. You should only wash with cold or warm water for 2-3 as well, as hot water should be avoided on the treated area. Around 3 days after the treatment, your skin may feel very dry, so we suggest using a hydrating moisturizer that won’t cause any irritations. In 1-2 weeks, patients should expect the treated area to be fully healed.
We typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 1 month apart. Each treatment builds on itself. You will continue to see improvement for a few months after the 3rd treatment. If patients take care of their skin by using sunscreen and keeping up the results with topical retinoids, the effects of the treatment can be extended. Often we will recommend coming in for a maintenance treatment once a year for touch-up treatments. We are constantly aging, so with any type of anti-aging treatment there will be maintenance required to keep up the results.
Acne scars and large pores can both be improved with laser resurfacing. Acne scars can range in appearance. Most commonly they are raised red or pink scars, small holes in the skin that are known as “ice pick” scars, or as depressed or uneven areas of the face. The downtime involved is short, as lasers resurface scars gradually.
Large pores can also be improved with this type of laser skin resurfacing. With the increase in collagen production, pore visibility can be decreased. This outcome may be subtle, so patients should discuss their goals with their provider to determine whether this treatment will provide the desired level of improvement.
For patients looking to treat the visible signs of photodamage such as dark spots, irregular pigmentation, and redness, we recommend Intense Pulsed Light treatments, also referred to as IPL. IPL is used to treat brown spots and redness on the face, neck, and chest.
The procedure feels like warm pinpricks on the skin and your face will feel very warm. The procedure is typically well tolerated.
Patients can experience some minor redness and swelling post-treatment. Some patients can also experience mild acne breakouts post-treatment.
